Though some insurance companies offer discounts or reimbursement for therapies such as acupuncture and massage, neither our center nor our providers participate in the discount programs offered through insurance plans. However, if your plan does reimburse for certain services, you would be responsible for paying out of pocket at time of service. We would then work with you to provide you with necessary documentation to get reimbursed by your insurance company.

In addition, your plan may offer wellness benefits or your employer may offer a flexible spending account that can be used to pay for certain complementary therapy services such as acupuncture and massage. One such example is Fallon Health, which has an ItFits! Fitness Reimbursement Plan. Eligible members can get reimbursed up to $200 per plan year for participation in any of our yoga classes with proof of payment and the ItFits! Reimbursement form found on the Fallon Health website.

Please call your health insurance provider or your employer’s human resources representative to find out what your plan covers. Here are some suggested questions to ask of your insurance company:

Am I covered for this treatment?
Do I need a referral or prescription from my general practitioner?
Will I have to meet a deductible or pay a copay?
Am I limited to a certain number of visits?
What are some local providers in my policy network?
Make sure you write down who you talk to and what they say, should any coverage issues arise down the line.
