With a background in nursing of over 30 years, Kris’s passion for health and wellness drew her to yoga to help her achieve a balance in mind, body, and soul. After establishing a regular practice, she achieved her 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher certification.
Kris has tailored her classes to focus on gentle, mindful movement and breathing to encourage health and mobility for all persons, with every level of experience. She is a member of the National Yoga Alliance and the Yoga Service Council.
Anita Perry is an author, educator, yogi, and blogger and has been in the fitness business since 1978. Though her practice has students from all age groups, her core group is women like herself going through challenges of self worth, beauty, and relevancy. Ms. Perry has a master’s degree in education, is currently an elementary reading teacher, and is a frequent presenter at professional development and education conferences. Ms. Perry is the author of Yogaminute and a frequent guest wellness speaker. Ms. Perry was voted Best Yoga and Meditation Instructor by Thumbtack, Inc. two years in a row.
Lalou Begue, Lic.Ac. began his career in the healing arts as a massage therapist in 1980 and after graduating from the New England School of Acupuncture, opened a private practice on the North Shore. His post graduate studies include Chinese Herbal Medicine, certification in substance abuse treatment and prevention, and treatment approaches to complex clinical presentations. He is also a teacher for AcuPractice Seminars, an organization providing acupuncture training for physicians and chiropractors in acupuncture and Chinese medicine. In addition, Lalou is a fully credentialed provider of HealthAlliance Hospital with privileges to provide acupuncture services not only to Complementary Care Center clients, but also to patients of the hospital and cancer center as well.
Lynn M. Gerrits, MA, RMT Manager, Integrative Medicine and the Simonds-Hurd Complementary Care Center. She teaches Reiki (Certified Reiki Master Teacher), offers Guided Imagery, stress management classes and services, and is responsible for the development of the Cancer Center’s integrative cancer program utilizing select integrative therapies or services to provide additional options for symptom management that also support the healing needs of patients and their caregivers. Lynn’s passion to empower others combines years of counseling, coaching and teaching stress management techniques as a mental health clinician with a holistic approach to helping others find balance and harmony during life’s stressful moments, while also supporting wellness goals for prevention and recovery. She has been an instructor in Fitchburg State University’s ALFA program, trains nursing staff and other caregivers on stress management techniques, hand massage and a variety of other self-care techniques throughout the UMass Memorial Healthcare system and Medical School. Lynn presents at holistic and/or medical seminars and conferences and is frequently invited as a guest speaker at area colleges. She is certified as both a Laughter Yoga Leader, Prepare for Surgery, Heal Faster facilitator and will soon be a Certified Aromatherapist. Lynn works closely with area businesses to create corporate employee wellness services, classes and programs, such as topic-specific workshops or Lunch ‘N Learns.
Kim is our Wellness Associate and provides support in all aspects of day-to-day operations here at the Center. Kim holds Associates Degrees in Complementary Health Care and Physical Therapist Assistant. She is also a Reiki Master and is available by appointment here at the Center.
Lynn Rochefort, LCMT, CLT is a nationally certified licensed massage therapist who has advanced training in oncology massage, is a Level II Reiki Practitioner, completed a hospital-based oncology massage program at Boston Medical Center and and is also a Certified Lymphatic Therapist having studied the Vodder technique of Complete Decongestive Therapy.
Behrooz Mahjori Sabet received his Master degree in acupuncture from New England school of Acupuncture. He is also a Northeastern University graduate class of 1978. Behrooz is a Doctor of Acupuncture certified by Rhode Island Department of Health and Board of Registration in Medicine, certified member of National Board of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), certified acupuncturist by Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine, and certified by Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (CCAOM) in clean needle technique. Behrooz is a Member of the Society for Acupuncture Research as well as a Member of Health Professionals. He has treated patients in a variety of clinical settings, including New England Acupuncture and Oriental Herbal Services, Pathway to Wellness (formerly called AIDS Care Clinic), and the Dimock Community Health Center, and New England School of Acupuncture (NESA) clinic.
Linda Nutter Snay, RYT is a mama, yoga enthusiast and artist. Linda attended her first yoga class in 2002 and never looked back. Since then, yoga has filtered into her life, both on and off the mat. She is a passionate teacher who loves to assist others on their yoga journey as they discover the many facets of the yoga tradition. She believes yoga creates a healthy mind, body, and spirit, and thus benefits the well-being of each person as a whole. Her classes are based in Hatha yoga and draw on Mindfulness techniques, which work together to draw you back to your center and the present moment. Linda received her certification in 2007 and is a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance, has contributed to blogs, including Teachasana.com, and regularly writes on her website www.touchtheearthyoga.com.
